This afternoon I finally followed through with a project I’ve been meaning to do for at least the last four years or so. Today I actively and truly added to Wikipedia for the first time. While it wasn’t much–I just started a new page and added an image to another[ref]If you must know I added a photo of the Avant House and started the page for the Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Museum. Now they certainly won’t change the wikiscape, I hope both pages will grow and help preserve and enhance the Wampanoag culture.[/ref]–it felt really good to go out and take a couple photos for the sole purpose of improving wikipedia.
This new endevour started with the wikipedia category page listing all the articles tagged as needing images in Barnstable County. After a couple minutes of perusing the titles of the menagerie, I found a couple articles related to places that I was planning on cycling near. So naturally I grabbed my camera and headed out on a mission to Mashpee in the hope of finding that I was looking for. Needless to say, it worked out and I cannot wait to do it again.
